Bringing The Pied Piper to Columbus
The Pied Piper of New Albany is the Columbus-area location of The Pied Piper Music Store, a family-owned company founded in Huntington, West Virginia in 1967 by Chuck and Larry Levine. In 1991, Music Trades Magazine ranked The Pied Piper the third largest full-line music retailer in the United States. Five locations across West Virginia and Kentucky at the company's peak.
Chuck Levine's daughter Amy opened the New Albany showroom just over a year ago, bringing the family's music retail tradition to Central Ohio. New Albany didn't have anything like this. That was the point.
A curated showroom, not a warehouse
The New Albany location is a focused, hands-on showroom. You're not walking into 10,000 square feet of inventory. You're walking into a carefully selected collection of guitars, keyboards, accessories, and strings where everything on the floor is worth your attention.
You can pick up any guitar and play it. Sit down at a keyboard and feel the action. Try two different instruments back to back and actually decide what's right for you. That's the whole point of coming in. And if you want something we don't have on the floor, we can order it through our online store and get it to you.

The Pied Piper of New Albany is an authorized Fender dealer, authorized Premium Yamaha Guitar dealer, and authorized Taylor Guitars dealer. Same brands, same warranties, same accountability you'd expect from a dealer who has been in this business for nearly 60 years.
Zach handles our repairs, setups, and restrings in house. If your instrument needs work, bring it in.

New Albany is a music community. The schools have strong programs. The McCoy Center and Hinson Amphitheater bring live music to the area regularly. Kids here grow up around music and they deserve a local place to buy instruments, get them set up right, and talk to someone who knows what they're doing.
We're walking distance from New Albany City Schools. Customers have come in from Gahanna, Westerville, Dublin, Powell, Pickerington, Pataskala, Upper Arlington, Bexley, Granville, and Johnstown. Some of them grew up in West Virginia and remembered The Pied Piper from back home.
